This dumpsite took the place of the famous “Smokey Mountain” closed in 1995. A constant flow of trucks comes to the site.

On this place, hundreds of families have come to settle, live and work.

The first victims of this situation are the children. Mixed among the adults, these scavengers children have only the experience of the dumpsite. They work, eat, sleep and bathe in the middle of the garbage.

A project was launched at the end of 2003 in order to take care of the children needs.
